RED FM Calgary’s Annual Gurpurab Radiothon raises $213,250 for Alberta Children’s Hospital

November 6, 2025 – Calgary, Alta: CKYR 106.7 RED FM, Calgary’s leading
multicultural radio station successfully hosted its annual Radiothon on November 5,
2025, in honour of Gurpurab, the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the First
Sikh Guru.
Funds raised through the Radiothon will support Guru Nanak Dev Ji Vision Clinic at
Alberta Children’s Hospital to purchase RetCam. This advanced retinal imaging The
system captures high-resolution, wide-angle images of the eye that are essential for
diagnosing and monitoring premature babies at risk of blindness, children with rare
genetic or metabolic disorders, and those with eye injuries or tumours, among other conditions
conditions. A new RetCam will give experts the clarity, speed, and precision they need
to detect problems earlier, intervene sooner, and protect the precious gift of sight for
hundreds of young patients each year.
RED FM does not retain any portion of the donations. 100% of the funds collected
The radiothon is for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
